A day in public education with 40 students per class!

Sun 8/8/2021 12:25 PM Good afternoon everyone! Hope you are getting some rest after the first week of school. Thanks to everyone for your hard work. All in all, it was a very good first week. How many more to go? Here are the updates for the week: The District is stressing the critical importance of teachers using and maintaining School pages. This is a quarantined student's lifeline to their classes. To continue to keep our students engaged and on track, teachers need to have their pages updated with F2F as well as quarantined students in mind. Teachers, please make sure you have a seating chart for each of your classes. It is imperative for when we have to do contact tracing. Even though TEA released new guidelines, we at --- have been told to continue with contact tracing until told otherwise. Hopefully, we will have more information tomorrow. It is evolving daily. Many students are struggling with getting into the routine of school life. Please keep SEL in mind when working with your students. There are a lot of students experiencing anxiety right now. Please consider keeping homework down to a manageable amount. Several students do not have laptop devices, passwords, and other technology issues contributing to their frustration. Gilbert is working feverishly with IT to get these issues solved. A reminder that on Wednesday, we will have our grade level meetings. Please remember to escort your students and sit with them during the presentations. We will announce when to bring your classes to the Fine Arts Auditorium. As I mentioned at the BOY faculty meeting, we have created a schedule allowing our content area department chairs time to go into classrooms and to provide extra support for teachers. Based on the Instructional Lead Teachers Concept (ILT), our fantastic department chairs are now able to provide another layer of support to you if needed. They will be visiting classes starting soon to provide assistance. We will be receiving information on HB 4545 at a training on Thursday. I will keep you posted. That is all for now. Enjoy your day!
